about

Instrumental debut Concept Album by A House Divided.

So the story goes:

Conform:
We join The Protagonist in the middle of his quest to be part of the upper class, a goal he's had since childhood. At a formal dinner party he over hears a chat between a group of people detailing a plan to seize power and eradicate the lower classes, deemed feeble, weak and a cancer rooted deep in society.

None Of Us Are Free:
It is from this moment that The Protagonist decides that there is no chance that he would be part of that any longer. He learns that the plan is perpetuated by the New World Order, and has been going on for over a century, starting with the world wars and the various stock market fluctuations through out history, using them as test runs and to control our wants and needs through manipulation and fear.

Black Monday:
The heads of the New World Order rush along with their plans, which is to cause the worst stock crash in all of recorded history. The Protagonist tries to warn as many people as he can, but all but a select few put him down as a "conspiracy theorist". The plan is eventually set in motion as people realise that The Protagonist is telling the truth.

Take Up Arms:
In the aftermath of Black Monday, people come to realise that all of the things The Protagonist was warning them about was true. The people affected negatively by the plan band together, and The Protagonist makes the choice to lead them into the fight.

A House Divided:
This takes place from the point of view of the New World Order, and shows the beginning of some disillusionment from a group of the party. It goes through the discussions that they have about whether or not they are going about it the right way, and the ones that have doubts put forward that eliminating a vast portion of the earths population is wrong. It ends with the anti-plan group separating from the New World Order to join with the resistance.

Daemons:
The remaining force of the New World Order devise a scheme to discredit The Protagonist, in an attempt to squash the resistance. To do this, they leak evidence about The Protagonist and the disillusioned New World Order being involved in the events of Black Monday, and The Protagonist has to fight to disprove the lies.

Coup d'Etat:
The resistance decides that now is the time to act is now. A quick and decisive strike is deemed the most effective way, based on the information given by the separatist New World Order group. There is war on the streets, bombs and gunfire. The Protagonist corners the Head of the New World Order, and holds him at gun point and has a chat about the reasons behind Black Monday.
Overpopulation is rife, and puts immense amounts of strain on the ecosystem. Wars over land and resources come from the same problem. With less people, there comes less demand. The Head makes the argument that some of the lower classes are savages, and shouldn't exist, let alone have any modicum of power, even to vote. Discussions get more heated and reach a climax when the rest of the resistance storms into the room with The Heads family. The resistance proceeds to slaughter the family right before The Heads eyes. Distraught, he goes to attack the nearest member of the resistance, but is shot. On his knees, he begs for death... And The Protagonist gives it to him, executing him.

Declaim:
These are the words that are recited; declaimed. Over and over again until the words that once meant something sound like nonsense syllables, repeated until they can be repeated no more.

Event Horizon:
Now past the point of no return, The Protagonist makes moves to reinstate normality and order. Over and over again, he tries but things keep cropping up, plans fail... He decides to leave it to the second in command, and takes an early retirement.

Crosswinds:
Problems arise from the change in power, which is to be expected from people with no political background get into a political power struggle. Fist fights break out in the newly reinstated parliament, and internal struggles in the various parties bring shame, as The Protagonist begins to reflect on the recent past.

Introversion:
The Protagonist goes into self-imposed exile in the countryside, away from all the fights and hassle of what he helped to create and uses this time to reflect upon his actions and decisions. An old saying ran through his mind... "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds"

Life After Trauma:
Ideas run through The Protagonists mind, thoughts about what he's done, and the crimes he's committed, or the ones that would have been crimes that he would have been tried and would have died for, should he have lost. He thinks about the lives of those that have been destroyed and taken in an attempt to save the ones that he deemed worthy to save, and who gave him permission to do so?
The Protagonist is interrupted by the news of a new leader that has taken power, after the death of his second in command being ruled "an accident", with no evidence being released to the public.
He resumes his lamenting, thinking about The Head of The New World Order, and the discussion that they both had that day. The solution to overpopulation that the New World Order had was with good intentions, to save the environment, or at least to put less strain on it... Maybe he was right about about the lower classes not being able to handle the power that they had, and then he went and gave them even more power than they had before. The saying that he thought of earlier plays on his mind, before thinking to himself: "Ah, how fleeting... Ah, how... Insignificant"
